OH!! the agony

Most of our first semester courses will be in the classroom. We have some pretty boring stuff but it is needed. FAR (Federal Air Regulations) is one of those classes and it took a bit but I think I have a good handle on it. Sitting in a classroom and having someone read a regulation and then explain it and then have you look it up and get asked several questions about it is not my cup of tea. Math which was not my strong suit in high school and I wish I knew more about has come back to haunt me. I think a complex problem is trying to figure out my 1040A or if thats a good price per pound on hamburger (which I don't do anyway because my Wife does the shopping) I haven't seen this stuff in over 20 years and a test is coming soon. Basic Electricity is coming soon and I know we get to use math but at least we get to get our hands dirty (get in the shop) pictures of our first electric project coming soon.

Fed Ex donates jet

Big news and a great learning tool. Federal Express donated a 727-225 to the Aviation Department. It was quite the ceremony to decommission a tried and true airframe. For those of you who know where I attend school you may view this at their website.

Introduction

My posts will be a bit hap hazard as I am doing this about 5 weeks into school. Its not often you get to live out one of your dreams. I have wanted to work on aircraft ever since I got out of the Air Force, but as we all know "stuff" happens. If you don't take a leap of faith, nothing more will ever happen than just the day to day rat race. So I will attempt to chronicle my exploits as I am now 38 and going to school with 11 others who aren't even old enough to buy a beer (legally) but can go to war and defend our freedoms.
